Celtic Career Review
Tony Mowbray made his debut for Celtic on
Saturday, 9th November 1991 in a 2-1 win at home to Aberdeen, aged 27. Despite an injury-plagued spell with the club, he has become part of the club’s modern history. During his time with Celtic, Mowbray's wife, Bernadette Doyle Mowbray, died of breast cancer. In a show of solidarity, Mowbray suggested that the Celtic players perform a huddle immediately before the following match. This remains a common practice amongst the current Celtic players; known simply as ‘The Huddle’. In total, he made 75 league appearances for the club (plus 3 as substitute), scoring 6 goals.

Quotes
'I caught the beginning of the stadium. I caught just that wind of change and I remember thinking that when this place is full it is going to be quite an arena. I felt the warmth and swell of the Celtic support.'
Tony Mowbray, 2004
