Inside-forward Hugh Maxwell was signed by Celtic from Falkirk for £15,000 on November 13 1964.

He made his debut a day later as Celtic lost at home in the league to Dundee 2-0 but against his old club a week later he netted within 10 seconds. A prolific scorer with the Bairns things just never clicked for Hugh at Parkhead and he was sold to St Johnstone in June 1965 after eight appearances and two goals.
