A quick and strong outside-right James Healy signed for Celtic in April 1924 after an earlier trial with the Bhoys.

His competitive debut came on November 8th at Parkhead when a rampant Celtic destroyed Kilmarnock 6-0 in a one-sided league encounter.
Signed from junior outfit Shieldmuir Celtic, Healy only made one further senior appearance for the Hoops and was subsequently loaned to Motherwell and Montrose. He was freed by Celtic in April 1925 and went on to sign for Plymouth Argyle.
