O'Callaghan, born 1940 worked for hotel chain Stakis SKS.L from 1972 to 1989 and was chairman of McDonald Hotels Plc in 1989. McCann's divided the post of Chairman into non-executive Chairman and Chief Executive. Frank O'Callaghan was took up the position of non-executive Chairman on the departure of Fergus McCann while Allan McDonald became Chief Executive.
