Craig, Billy

Blessed with exceptional speed outside-right Billy Craig was signed by Celtic as a 16-year-old in September 1953 from junior outfit St Anthony’s.

He made his competitive debut for the Bhoys in a 3-1 league defeat at Falkirk on September 10th 1955. He was a surprise selection in the Celtic side which lost the 1956 Scottish Cup final to Hearts, having played only two league games prior to that Hampden occasion.

Billy was released by Celtic in the summer of 1957 after making a total of 9 appearances. He went on to join Third Lanark.
