Everton forward Alec Brady was another player the ambitious Celtic board were able to tempt to Glasgow in the early days of the club.

The Cathcart-born former Sunderland man moved back to his native Scotland in 1891 but his stay at Celtic Park was brief and after just one season he returned to England and joined Sheffield Wednesday.

He made his debut for the Bhoys on August 15th 1891 at Hearts as the Celts lost 3-1 in a league encounter. Before his departure he scored 20 goals in just 24 games and in the process helped Celtic to lift the Scottish Cup
