Signed after a 1 month trial at the instigation of his previous manager at Sligo Rovers, ex-Celt Willie McStay. On joining he had 8 RoI U18 caps and was Irish Schoolboy of the Year 92/93. He immediately went into the Reserve team and before his release was captain of Reserves. Described as ""in the Barry Smith mould"" by McAdam.
He made it to the first team squad in 96/97 for the game v Dunfermiline but the game was called off. He made Reserve App: 42 + 3sub. He made a representative debut in Mick McCarthy's Testimonial against the Republic of Ireland in May 1996.
He was released 5/2/97 and joined Derry City.
He had four spells with Finn Harps helping the Donegal club to promotion to the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division last season.
The 34-year-old holds a UEFA 'A' license and has coached teams at his local Killybegs club, St. Catherine's FC, while he has also worked with the Letterkenny Reserves squad in a coaching capacity.
He has recently been appointed football Regional Development Officer for Leitrim with the FAI.
