2005-09-21 Celtic 2-1 Falkirk, League Cup

Celtic came from behind to progress to the CIS cup quarter-finals, when substitute John Hartson scored a winner in extra time. For the second time in amonth, Alan Gow put the Bairns in the lead against Celtic, but Zurawski equalised just 6minutes later, before the game was pushed into extra time. This was the second year running that Falkirk were knocked out of the league cup by Celtic.
Lennon was out injured, but Sutton made his return to fitness start in the holding role instead. Celtic had the better of the first-half chances, but Falkirk were quick and adventurous after the break. Boruc tipped a Gow free-kick over the bar in the dying seconds in order to ensure extra-time, and Celtic's progression to the next round.
