With 17 minutes gone, the MTK defence misjudged a long ball forward from Paul Lambert on the edge of their penalty box, allowing the ball to bounce on to Larsson, who deftly steered the ball over home goalkeeper Zoltan Vegh with an impeccable first touch.
Sutton returned to the side in place of Shaun Maloney and the striker made his muscular presence felt to create the second goal in the 36th minute. He managed to get thr ball off a couple of defenders before releasing an angled strike, which struck the outstretched leg of Vegh and fell to Agathe, who had a simple task to score from the rebound. A minute later, Larsson slid in at the back post to connect with an Alan Thompson cross but could only hit the side-netting.
Celtic increased their advantage when Petrov was on hand to score after Vegh had blocked a fierce shot from Thompson.
Sutton completed the scoring in the dying minutes, when he dived low to connect with a smart Larsson cross and smahed home an impressive header.
