Another Closed-Door Friendly! This time Davie Hay asked Kilmarnock for the game but again (as with the Middlesbrough game two weeks prior) to give players coming back from injury a run out and to get a look at those close to first team action. Another run out for Pat Bonner, Peter Grant and Paul McGugan, a first game for Pierce O'Leary coming back from injury, one for Paul McStay after getting over 'flu plus another chance to see Tony Shepherd in action and to assess the 'reserves'.

As yet (!) no record of the Kilmarnock team is available.

Celtic:
Bonner, Traynor, McGee, Grant, McGugan, O'Leary, Shepherd, P. McStay, McGhee, McKechnie, Archdeacon.
Subs: Sandy Fraser for Mark McGhee, Dougie McGuire for Owen Archdeacon
Non-Used Subs: Lex Baillie, Ronnie Coyle,

Scorers:
McGhee (2), Shepherd, Archdeacon
