RANGERS v. The game was keenly contested, but on the whole disappointing The players were too eager, and at times play fell flat. There was no scoring in the first half, due principally to indifferent shooting. The second half saw Celtic open the scoring, amid tremendous cheering, through Hamilton, after McArthur had partially cleared a ball from the right, Later McMenemy added a second when the Rangers looked well beaten, though they afterwards reduced the leeway through a penalty granted against Mitchell, and taken by Kyle Result —Celtic, two goals; Rangers, one goal.
