The Scotsman - Monday, 6th November 1893, page 10

CELTIC v DUNDEE —This match was played at Parkhead in fine weather, before 3000 spectators. The Celtic played Campbell, late of Aston Villa. The Celtic started with the breeze against them. Dundee had the first try and the first corner. The Celtic early showed the way, and scored in the first seven minutes from a long drive from the right. In half an hour M'Kie was beaten a second time, Dundee were for a little reduced to a defence. Latterly they came away and Dundas shot splendidly, but missed by inches. Celtic was playing in irresistible style, and shortly before the interval Campbell beat M'Kie for a third time. The weakness of the visitors was painfully evident. The Celtic resumed strong, a shot from the left striking the crossbar. M’Ilhennie, the Celtic ' s new half-back from Paisley, was making a good first appearance. He dropped a beauty which was saved with difficulty. M'Kie saved a scorcher, but immediately after Dundee scored after a fine run down, Result -Celtic, three goals; Dundee, one goal.
