Celtic v Linthouse – This match was played at Parkhead. From the start the Celtic played a very fast game, and soon had the ball at Linthouse goal, where some very smart goalkeeping was witnessed. Linthouse came away with a dash, and soon had the ball passed Cullen, but off-side being claimed, the goal was disallowed. Linthouse continued to press, and Smith scored their first goal amid great excitement. From the kick-off the Celtic had a combined run and equalised. In the second half the Linthouse kept up the pressure and several fouls being given against the Celtic. The Celtic now had a bit of the play, and from a scrimmage in front of Linthouse goal, the ball was carried through. By no means discouraged Linthouse came away, but Cullen, who was playing a grand game, saved. Towards the close of the game M’Mahon scored with a fine run. Result:- Celtic, three goals; Linthouse, one goal.
