Celtic v Abercorn – This match was played off at Parkhead in presence of 4000 spectators. The game was a good one, Abercorn showing excellent play. The Celts rapidly settled to their work, and in ten minutes Madden, after clever dribbling, beat Jamieson with a hard shot. Open play followed, both sides playing a fast game. M’Lardle equalised in fifteen minutes. At half-time the game stood :- Celtic, one goal; Abercorn, two goals. In the second half the Celts, with the wind, were soon at the Abercorn goal, where steady play was witnessed from the visitors’ defence. Flanagan scored for the Celtic amid great cheering, the game being again equal. The play became more spirited, the Celts seeming now fairly on the way for winning. The Abercorn backs, however, kicked strong and true. Result:- Celts, three; Abercorn, two.
